How to choose catering for a company: questions to ask before you sign

Meals for employees are one of the things noticed in a company every day. Good catering saves time and lifts morale, while bad catering becomes the topic of every Monday. Here are the questions worth asking before you choose.

1. What does the menu look like and how much does it change?

Ask for the weekly menu in advance, whether there is a choice between dishes and how often they repeat. Monotony is the most common reason employees stop ordering.

2. Can special diets be accommodated?

Every team has people who fast, do not eat meat, have allergies or gluten intolerance. Check whether the caterer can prepare fasting, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free meals, not just "leave something out" of a standard dish.

3. What does delivery look like?

  • Is it delivered at the agreed time and is that time respected?
  • What does the food arrive in: does it stay hot or fresh until lunch?
  • What happens when the number of employees in the office changes?

4. What is included in the price?

Compare the price per meal, but also whether delivery, cutlery and napkins are included, how VAT is calculated and what invoicing looks like. A clear offer without hidden costs makes budgeting easier.

5. Can you try it first?

Good catering will have no problem with a trial period or a tasting. Try the meals with a few colleagues before a long-term agreement.

6. Terms of cooperation and cancellation

Check until when an order can be changed or cancelled, how complaints are handled and whether there is a discount for regular cooperation.
